DUTIES OF WEIGHT RECORDER

Weight Recorder

The Weight Recorder is appointed by the Leader. If chapter is large enough, Leader may also appoint an Assistant to help Weight Recorder.

The Weight Recorder must be reliable, capable, efficient, accurate, discrete, kind, supportive, and keep weight records confidential.

Individual and chapter recognition at all levels are all based on the weight chart records kept by the Weight Recorder.

Use TOPS Weight Recording Guide, TOPS & KOPS Rules, and bylaws, Bring these to eah meeting to answer any questions that could arise. When necessary, please contact your Area Captain and /or Coordinator for additional guidance.

2.  The Weight Recorder shall weigh in members, offering praise, support, and encouragement to each individual at this important time.

  • In the time set aside before roll call, weigh each individual carefully, reading and recording weights accurately on individual's weight chart as member watches. If a member is late, weight is recorded after the meeting.
  • Checek additions and subtractions to minimize chance for math errors.

  • Duplicate recors may be recorded on cards, in a ledger, in a booklet, or on a photocopied chart. All charts need to be updated weekly.
  • Duplicates are kept in a seperate location as a safety precaution. Weight Recorder keeps the ORIGINAL charts in his/her possession from meeting to meeting. Leader (or Assistant Weight Recorder) keeps duplicate charts.
  • Chapters are encouraged to retain dupicate weight charts of KOPS as long as they maintain status. TOPS charts may be destroyed after one year.

4.  Additionally, individual loss or gain and name of each person weighing in may be logged in a weekly notebook. The list may be helpful in determining weekly best loser.

7.  Only qualified people may weigh members.

  • Often there are two people - one works the scale and one records the weight.
