About our chapter............

Your TOPS Binder

Whenever a new member joins our chapter they receive their own TOPS binder to keep all notes and things together.

 

In these binders we place:

  • TOPS Pledge
  • TOPS Rules
  • TOPS Terms
  • Canada Food Guide
  • Contact Numbers
  • Weight Journal Progress Sheet
  • Food & Exercise Journal
  • Chapter ByLaws
  • Extra Past Handouts

We also like to recognize our weekly best achiever.

 

Optional,  a member is asked to bring a piece of fruit, a vegetable, or healthy snack to place in a basket. The best achiever for the week is given the basket of "goodies" to recognize thier effort and to give them some foods to help keep them on the road to success.

 

It is optional to participate in this. You must bring in something for the basket to be eligible to receive it though.

 

Our dues are $8.00 a month - due the first meeting of the month.

Each month we recognize our "highest monthly loser" with a certificate & small reminder.

FEBRUARY

 

 

 Our highest loser was IRIS

this month, she lost 5.8 lbs!

 

 

 

 

 

These 3 inch pylons with postitive sayings have been give out the last few months to our highest monthly losers. What a great reminder - place it in the kitchen the following month - perhaps in your fridge - as a reminder of how well you did - and to keep going forward successfully.

Each month a certificate is given to the highest monthly loser also. This is a sample of what we use. One is given to the highest loser at the first meetingof the month and one is framed to be displayed all month as a reminder of their success.

MONTHLY INCENTIVE

 

Each time you bring in your food journal to the meeting and have it initialled - your name is placed in a draw. At the end of the month, a random name is drawn from these names and they win a small prize.

 

Study after study has proven that writing down everything that you eat leads to more successful weight loss ~ we wanted to add a little extra motivation.

How to get your month dues paid by the chapter?

Another incentive we have in our chapter is our "get your month's dues paid by the chapter" certificates.

 

We do this in one of two ways:

 

First if you get a friend to join TOPS half your monthly chapter dues are covered.

 

The second is a points system. Once you obtain 30 points you have your months chapter dues paid.

 

A member receives a point each week for:

  • losing weight/staying the same/KOPS in leeway
  • show a food/exercise journal
  • bringing a friend to a Chapter meeting
  • do the weekly chapter presentation

YELLOW ROSE BUDDY

 

I, Wanda , as a KOPS in TOPS ON 5357 Stratford, do pledge to do my best in the job ahead of me.

 

Ive chosen  Cassandra as my Rose Buddy, and I will offer them encouragement towards a common goal, to Take Off Pounds Sensibly. 

 

I will try to keep in touch with them by phoning, visiting, or sending an encouraging note at least once a week. 

 

If they are having a rough time, I will be a leaning post to offer support in time of need.

 

I will encourage them and congratulate them when recognition has been earned.

I will set no limit as to weight loss, accepting a quarter pound as an achievement. 

 

I hope knowing that I am here for them will add to her self confidence that they can lose weight too.

 

Time spent for the benefit of others is never wasted.
