We are planning to start a group in North Georgia. Your site looks great. I am sure it did not get there overnight. Do you have any suggestions for starting a new group? What successes and/or issues you may have had early on? Thanks,

    Hi DiAnne

I am so glad you came across the site and enjoy it. I enjoy creating it as I go also. It first started out being for my area of 20 chapters and wow I am humbled by the responses I get from all over of fellow TOPS/KOPS members enjoying it.

I tried getting a KOPS Honour Society going in our Area and the KOPS weren't really interested. I haven't given up yet though - will try again probably next year. I was a KOPS but lost status when I was put on some medications with known side effects of weight gain - was too hard to fight and haven't seemed to be able to lose the weight. At least it has levelled off now though.

I will keep my eyes and ears open for any KOPS ideas while I am at chapters or if anyone emails me anything. As I get them I try to add them to the site as quick as I can.

Hope all is well in Nova Scotia - I was down there a few years back and it is beautiful. I wasn't able to attend IRD when it was in Halifax but my Sister Represented Ontario as Queen then with a loss of I think 170lbs.

    Take Care

    Rhonda

Thanks Callie - I really enjoy working on the site also and finding new things for it. Always open to ideas that people are looking for as if one person is looking for it - more than likely others are too.

    Hi Rhonda
Our chapter used the Fiesta idea for installation. Our Leader loves decorating so as a backdrop she had a sombero,a mexican poncho
    some mementos of Mexico.
We used everything fresh except the cilantro
She got a bottle of it.
Everything went over very good and our chapter really enjoyed it.
There was only one new person on executive this year. All the others will run for another year

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your site. Bless you for being so diligent in keeping it going as I can`t imagine all the work that goes into it.
I am the contest chairman of my chapter and love getting other members` ideas. I use them exactly as they are presented or I modify them to fit our chapters` needs.

Yes a few different area captains have checked out my site and do love the idea - but I must admit it takes a lot of work to get started and to upkeep. I am lucky enough right now to not be working so I have the time and actually would probably be considered an enjoyable pastime for me. I would be more than happy to link other area captains up with it. I now pay for the site as the traffic has increased so much over the years - We even have had comments from England :) you are always so sweet and encouraging in your comments - that is why I keep it going!

Just saying hi. Still using and loving your site. Have you thought of showing other area captains how they might help and inspire the chapters in their area by having a local site of there own. I know not every one is computer savvy but it is kind of like learning to lose and maintain your weight. Have a great day.

Thanks soooo much for taking the time to put all of this together! I REAALLY wanted my first program to be about excuses, and was having sooo much trouble finding anything. I printed the pdf you have here, added some questions, and cut out the reading onto index cards so they can be passed out!

I found your site on the sparks page just when I'd finally settled for a snacks presentation :)>

    Thanks again!

    Hi Terry

So glad you enjoy the site. I have tons more I want to add to it but dang life gets in the way sometimes :)

Unfortunately I won't be attending IRD this year - but I know a few from our area that are going. What an inspiration your co-leader is - WOW! I will watch for her in the TOPS News when they do their special honor magazine.

I started out as a Leader (still am in fact) and became an Area Captain a couple of years ago - I so enjoy getting out to the different chapters - it is one of the things I love about TOPS - the way each chapter runs just a little differently allowing their uniqueness to shine through :)

If there is anything in particular you are even looking for give me a shout - I may be able to help and just not got it on here yet.

I was just recently elected Leader of TOPS #TX 1686, Bastrop in Bastrop TX. I think your website is great and I will continue to check back for new ideas.

Maybe someone from our chapter will be able to say "Hello" to someone from your chapter at this years IRD in Halifax. One of our members (our co-leader) was just named State Queen from Texas. Her name is Glenda Crysup and we are so proud of her. She was also just named "2010 Fit Texan" by Governor Rick Perry in recognition of her weight loss achievement. Keep your eyes open for her at SRD.

    Keep up the great website!

    Thanks,

    Terry Spain
