I hope everyone had a wonderful 2nd to last long weekend of the summer - summer is sure flying by.

The TOPS yard sale went well, despite the weather, I cleared out my living room and dining room and set up tables inside. We had a fairly good turnout considering the rain spurts. In total, TOPS raised $73.00. Thank you to those members who helped support our area fund and those members who helped out for the day. The remaining things are being donated to the Salvation Army Church in St. Marys (where a fellow chapter meets) as they are holding a yard sale for a needy family in September.

By now, or shortly, your chapter will be receiving the invitation for this years rally. 

Like last year, each chapter is asked to donate a $25.00 doorprize. If no one from your chapter is attending the rally you can forward a $25.00 cheque to me and I will purchase a gift card on your chapter's behalf.

Chapters are also asked to design a Fall Centrepiece as mentioned in last newsletter.

I heard IRD in Halifax this year was enjoyed by all. Mark your calendars for next year - July 7 - 9th in Milwaukee where TOPS headquarters is and it all began. 

We are reviving the fun of the ‘50s when Esther Manz traveled the streets of Milwaukee in her little car with her scale in a shopping bag starting chapters. Milwaukee is the hometown of the Cunninghams and the Fonz as well as Laverne and Shirley!

2011 - 2012 TOPS Theme

As I was saying in the beginning of the newsletter, the summer is flying by - but so is the year. TOPS has announced the new theme for 2011-2012. 

Think of all the exciting contests, ceremonies and celebrations that can be developed with this theme.

I will be unavailble from around August 16th - until August 25th. If something arises that needs attention you can contact Carol Harper.

I am getting married August 20th. Some of you will remember I was to get married two August's ago but a family emergency came up at last minute and we had to cancel. Well I have waited to now, and keeping fingers crossed, Rich and I will be married in just a few short weeks. Many of you met Rich at last year's Rally in Woodstock.
