Action:  Keep building the habit of having water with you or being within reach at all times, and drink plenty of it through out the day. Choose water over any other beverage.

Water is essentially free and drinking enough of it is one of the most simple and effective steps you can take towards better health. So continue to make sure you have water within reach and drink it often.

This plan takes an easy approach. But in order to be successful, in control, and healthy, you must build on each step so that there are more times during the day that you are eating and acting healthy than not healthy.

Your health is a full-time job

Have you found it difficult to break the habit of those high calorie drinks?

Water also helps me decide if I really want that snack or not. Having a glass of water helps fill my stomach long enough to reconsider having too much peanut butter on my bread!

Soda has never been a problem with me, and diet soda definitely not, (can't take the after taste) Juice I do have some in the fridge, but it is the pure not from concentrated, and maybe two or three times a week I will have 1/2 cup for breakfast. really did good again with my water yesterday (Wed.) had 8 water 2 black coffee and 1 C. 1% milk.

I bombed on water today - and you know what - I actually missed it - was on the road most of the day and at a chapter this evening and when I got home I guzzled and FINALLY this thirst I had on all day went away. First rule - take water with me - a short errand may turn out to be all day :)

Ellen I know what you mean by the caffeine withdrawals - those headaches are awful - weaning down I think would be best for sure - I used to drink 2L of diet cola a day - down to about 1/2 that now because of my new tea discovery.

Nice to see you made it Nancy - something as simple as water can give us such a hard time....

Good for you Vietta :) I wish diet soda gave me a bad taste in my mouth..lol....soon we will all be walking water container..lol

Good idea Melody about water first before snack..will try that too....

Ready for day 5 - all ready!

Lordy Lordy, I feel like I will soon be swiming up stream. But I got 11 total to-day, counting my coffee and green tea, 9 were water. I will admit I didn't have that sleepy feeling this afternoon. So that is a plus.

Kathy is the Tang made from Crystal Light? As Crystal Light is very low in sugar and suppose to be ok for a water substitute. I've never tried it myself as I don't care for juicy things - well at least not to drink....

I drank the water on Thursday. The next three days (weekend) are always harder so I will try real hard

I find the weekend hardest also - for water, exercise, and eating...if I could conquer those 2 1/2 days I probably could handle being a KOPS much better. Although not working now I guess every day is almost like a weekend day - hmmmm - an ahhhh moment perhaps. lol

I too was out on the road all day. One thing I discovered, it is much easier to find a pop machine than one that sells water. I did drink 1/2 my water so far today, so I should be able to get the rest in before bed as it is going to be a late night.
I am drinking less pop now because that pitcher is the first drink I see when I open the fridge and it reminds me to drink my water.

To-day hasn't been too bad, I have managed 7 so far and working on another bottle right now,(2 Cups) so hope to get it in as well.
Had a good weigh in to-day, so that made me feel better as well.

I agree Ellen, pop on the road is easier to find. I need to remember to bring my water with me. I have two stainless steel ones but ..... (note to self - work on memory) I know I am drinking less pop only because I made a deal with myself I have to have a large glass of water in between anything ....

Great Vietta you had a good weigh in - we all love those :)
